Classical formula to dispel wind-cold and damp, tonify liver and kidney, and tonify qi and blood. Use for wind-damp in the joints, lower back, and knees, causing weakness, pain and stiffness. Conditions include chronic sciatica, arthritis and rheumatism. Also useful in injuries to lower limbs. Not recommended in hot conditions. Function: Eliminate Wind-dampness; stop pain, nourish blood and qi; strengthen liver and kidney Application: It use to relieve Bi syndrome in weaker patients with def. qi and def. blood. Symptoms: Pain and coldness in the lumbar area or legs or joints (especially knee joints); feeling of cold (the patient likes the warmth). The tongue may be pale with a thin, white tongue coat. The pulse may be thin, weak or empty. The applications include the following: (Note, the patient must have the above-listed symptoms associated with bi-syndrome due to def. qi and def. blood, ino order to use this.) Chronic arthritis (rheumatoid or osteoarthritis); sciatica.
