Originally used to treat prolapse of organs due to deficiency of qi and yang, including rectum, uterus, colon, hemorrhoids, varicose veins and hernia. Useful in uterine bleeding, habitual miscarriage, and chronic diarrhea. Effective in treating hypoglycemia. Source: Pi Wei Lun, (Treatise on The Spleen and Stomach), Li Gao, 1249.
