Function: Strengthen spleen; tonify qi, harmonize stomach function; eliminate dampness Application: Use to treat def. spleen and stomach qi syndrome: Symptoms: Fatigue, indigestion, nausea, full sensation in the chest or middle warmer, loose stools or diarrhea, a pale face; the tongue is pale, the pulse is empty. The herbs used in this formula are warming, but not drying; it is a commonly used and popular formula, which is particularly gentle in treating digestive, disorders (even in children) by strengthening the spleen; tonifying qi and eliminating dampness. Applications include the following: (There are all gastric system-related disorders, with symptoms such as indigestion, poor appetite, loose stools, fatigue.) chronic gastroenteritis, anemia, pulmonary tuberculosis, chronic nephritis, and other chronic consumptive diseases. Use in children to treat diarrhea with passage of undigested fool (lienteric diarrhea).
